Bergdorf Goodman is not what it used to be...

Unfortunately, since my review in August 2019 with a 5-star rating, things have changed A LOT. The business model must have changed. I had a personal stylist pre-COVID. I was away from NYC for some time and upon return, I contacted the stylist. At first, I was told she was truly excited to re-connect, then I was told she could meet with me in two weeks, then it was not in two weeks. Then I asked what is the availability. I was told there is no availability - ever. I'm shocked at the way the communication was handled. I had asked for a phone call, but was refused. Obviously, I wouldn't want to work with a stylist who has no time for a client or decided she didn't want to work with me - but this experience has made me decide to no longer patronize Bergdorf Goodman. It's a shame - Barney's has closed, BG may be headed in that direction. The stylist is excellent and very kind - I'm assuming it's the management model that's changed.

Abysmal shipping

Just yesterday I placed an order for a bottle of fragrance and selected same day delivery to NYC. My order was placed in the early morning which was well before their cut-off time of 12:00 PM. In the early afternoon I got an email that my order was shipped (the same day I placed the order). I expected the package to come at some point in the late afternoon as I live close by. The package never arrived and today I got an email stating that the packaged has been shipped via FedEx Overnight delivery and is scheduled to be delivered on Monday which is the next business day.
How can they manage to screw up delivery of a single item to an address less than a mile from the store? This is unacceptable. It's not the first time BG has failed to deliver my order on time. I've even had items shipped to me that were NOT what I ordered and then had to return. I don't know what their issues are but when I select SAME DAY DELIVERY I expect it. This latest mess is the last straw. I will never order from BG (and Neiman's which is equally terrible) again. The are simply incapable of having a shipping department that actually functions. It's a miracle that anything gets shipped at all...which is bizarre because they're not that busy of a store to begin with.

DO NOT SHOP HERE

DO NOT SHOP HERE! The wrong item was sent to me. When I returned this item, noting that the wrong item was sent, the store shipped it back and refused to acknowledge that they sent me the wrong item. They never sent me the correct item and refused to refund me for the item they charged me for (but never sent). Despite sending multiple photos of the package that was sent, multiple customer service representatives refused to take responsibility for their error. They insist the item isn't in their warehouse, when someone clearly managed to pack/ship it to me.

I have filed a complaint with Amex but will NEVER be shopping at Bergdorf's or Neiman's again. This is truly appalling and should be treated as theft.

Careless packaging of a designer item

Ordered a Balmain blazer which arrived in a damaged boxed, not wrapped, in no bag no nothing, just rubbing against a cardboard box. I’ve never received even a cheap item packed so carelessly from other companies, so I’m truly shocked BG put so little care into packaging an expensive designer item. Will never buy anything from them again and will advise others to stay away. I could have gotten this item for less from elsewhere, but due to its cost I went with BG hoping it would be a good experience despite a higher price tag, but I was wrong!

Shameful!

Shameful!! 1) My Account Profile with all my order history has disappeared because they are 'updating their system'. 2) I therefore have no proof of the order they have screwed up. 3) $525 Item I cancelled shows up with no documentation and no ability to return. 4) They shorted me an additional $525 when I returned 3 pairs and they only credited me for 2.

Not to trust the seamstress

I purchased a very expensive designer gown that needed alterations and shortening.
To my surprise when I went to pick up the dress, the extra fabric was missing and was not returned to me as of today, despite my request for the extra fabric to be sent back to me.
I am very disappointed in the service.

Non Existent Customer Service and Broken Return Process

Your return process has a serious issue but even more concerning is the fact that you have hired out your customer service to third-party countries that do not speak or understand English. Please let me be clear that this is not a citizen issue, it is an issue that you have an existing process issue and I cannot contact your provided customer service number and have a complete conversation with someone about it. In this case, you have a customer lost and I will be attending an event tomorrow evening with an extremely large and substantial customer demographic of people who are stylists and customers who I will be sharing this with so you may think one customer has no impact on your bottom line but I assure you that as a business owner and human being living in 2022 that word of mouth can negatively impact your business in a very real way.

I just had an order cancelled because…

I just had an order cancelled because they posted the wrong price on the item and so after spending hours trying to “fix” what they initially said the problem was, the payment method, today the excuse is that they made a mistake with the advertised price and so that’s it. How isn’t that bait and switch? But they apologized! Ha! Never again buying from this store. Plenty other places I could buy the exact same things from that aren’t engaging in illegal/unethical practices.

Purchase

I purchased a pair Louboutin Cameo boot December 10, 2021 I received them on December 20, 2021 I wore the boots on January 8, 2022 I noticed the bottoms were peeling looking cheap. I gave Bergdorf Goodman customer care a call I was asked to send pictures of the boot to a supervisor for review while I was on the phone with customer care. Well I told after they looked at the pictures I sent that this was normal wear. So said after only wearing these boots once this is considered normal wear. I spent $1700 on these boots as a treat to myself for my birthday what a disappointment because I really like the boots but I don't want to wear them anymore because they look cheap. I will not purchase anything else from Bergdorf Goodman because the customer sucks.

Bergdorf Goodman has the worst customer…

Bergdorf Goodman has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered 2 items from their online shop and the shipping times said 4-5 business days. One of the items was not shipped until after 18 days, rhe other one got lost during delivery. I contacted them a few times, they promised to refund money but I never received anything from them. Will never biy from them again.

I didn't get the right item shipped to me. It went out of stock. And they did nothing but offer an insincere apology and forced me to go through all the effort of managing the return.
